WEAR THE SKY

The first entry in the FAD Emerging Creator Series, documenting a young maker whose imagination transformed simple materials into wearable expressions of wonder.

Editor’s Note

WEAR THE SKY

*The FAD Emerging Creator Series documents individuals whose work reminds us that creativity is not defined by age, credentials or scale. It is defined by the willingness to imagine possibilities and invite others into them. Wear The Sky is the first chapter of that archive.*

Some creators begin with a sketchbook.

Others begin with a question.

For Vasushree, creativity began with the simple act of imagining what might happen if the sky could be worn.

Identified and invited by the team at the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, Vasushree led a creative hat-making workshop that encouraged participants to explore imagination through making.

Using accessible materials and open-ended prompts, the workshop transformed paper, colour and form into wearable expressions. Every participant approached the exercise differently. Some created crowns. Others built sculptures. Some constructed playful objects that seemed to belong somewhere between fashion, storytelling and dreams.

What emerged was more than a workshop.

It became a temporary community of makers.

The FAD Emerging Creator Series exists to document these moments. Not after careers have been established, but at the point where creative potential first becomes visible.

Wear The Sky marks the first entry in this archive.

It celebrates curiosity, experimentation and the belief that creativity can emerge from any age, any background and any material.

The objects created during the session may not live in museums forever.
