VERTICAL HORIZON

VERTICAL HORIZON preserves a fleeting encounter with a city built upon the idea of reaching higher. Captured against the skyline of Dubai, the original image studies the relationship between human ambition and the structures created to embody it. Towers rise from the landscape like markers of possibility, transforming glass, steel, and light into a visual language of aspiration. Yet beyond its architectural subject, the photograph records something quieter: the feeling of standing beneath immense forms and measuring one's own place within them. As part of the Ankita Bhatnagar Archive Series, the work has been translated from photographic image into wearable artifact. The garment functions as a vessel for the original moment, carrying the atmosphere of the photograph beyond the gallery wall and into everyday life. This artifact is preserved not as merchandise, but as cultural evidence of a particular place, time, and perspective. Through acquisition, the collector becomes custodian of the archive, extending the life of the work through continued use, display, and preservation.
