TRAJECTORY

TRAJECTORY preserves the visible trace of something already gone. The original image captures a moment in which movement leaves behind evidence of its passage. Smoke trails cut across the sky like deliberate brushstrokes, converting velocity into form and turning a transient event into a composition of line, direction, and rhythm. What appears at first to be an image of flight gradually reveals itself as a study of time. The aircraft has already moved beyond the frame, yet its path remains suspended overhead, allowing the viewer to witness both presence and absence within the same moment. The photograph records not the machine itself, but the mark it leaves behind. As part of the Ankita Bhatnagar Archive Series, the work has been translated into wearable form, extending its life beyond the photographic medium. The artifact functions as a portable archive of momentum, preserving a gesture that would otherwise have vanished into the atmosphere. This piece is maintained as cultural evidence of observation, movement, and impermanence. Through acquisition, the collector becomes custodian of a moment that could not be held, yet was preserved.
